Robotics’ ChatGPT moment is just around corner. My overly optimistic bet is about 3 years away, give or take. Just watch what is happening recently.

1. Tesla announced Optimus, a general-purpose robotic humanoid in 2022.
2. In Mar. 2024, Figure.AI demoed Figure 01 humanoid powered by OpenAI Speech-to-Speech Reasoning.
3. NVIDIA pitched Robo Rendezvous to get Robotics Innovators and AI Leaders to Converge at GTC on its platform too.
4. In May, Fei-Fei Li, the Stanford AI lead founds a Spatial Intelligence startup to push an AGI evolution forward.

Thanks to the great progresses of understanding capabilities, multimodality, and agentic systems of LLMs. The whole industry has became very exciting again. Sure, it’s far-fetched and too early for now. Which makes it a great time to reinvent robotics. Because money is going to be allocated. Money is going to made. If you are tired of bullshit tasks, take the money and automate them.
