TL;DR UBI is the most desirable endgame of the labor market for the society. As an advanced society, we have to get there or die trying 😎

thenation.com(2020) ‘I Have a Dream’ Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., today and everyday.

This year, you can not get away from a small talk like the voting for 2020 US presidential election even in Silicon Valley. The 2016 one was a big surprise to a lot of people. Especially, a lot of Silicon Valley folks were devastated, e.g. spiked of fleeting to Canada & crashed its immigration website. Canada, your website is so ’90s. There is a thing called Public Cloud 😂 Joking aside, who would I vote for if I can vote? Just like Elon Musk: “I support Yang”. My why is UBI, even though I do have many different opinions on how we could actually get there.

Dream Big

Nevertheless, Yang’s $1K/M - Freedom Dividend, a UBI for all American adults campaign is a pretty smart move, e.g. check out the DAILY SHOW’s funny enlightenment below. Even thought it is still a very tough fright for Yang in 2020. Hey Mr. Yang, just keeps championing it forward & takes whatever small wins whenever possible. Soon 2024 won’t be a long shot anymore.

Start Small & Iterate Fast

As a die hard Star Trek Utopia fan, I support whatever initiates to move the society closer to the endgame. Therefore, I really hope Santa Clara County will move forward the recent $1K/M basic income trial proposal to help foster youth standing on their own feet. It is actually a more digestible form of BI currently & a practical baby step to move forward faster. Because it also enables other critical mechanisms, e.g. “Redistribution of wealth”. Any serious UBI supporter should love to see it happens. Doesn’t matter if it’ll be “successful” of not, we will gain something or learn something at least.
